Fifteen Saginaw Valley State University residential life student leaders received two awards while representing SVSU at the 2013 Great Lakes Association of College and University Residence Halls Conference. The group attended leadership development sessions and networked with peers from Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin and Ontario. Michigan State University hosted the conference November 22-24.

Saginaw Valley State University's Cardinal Singers and Concert Choir will perform this year's holiday-themed concert, "Sing Noel!," at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, in the Rhea Miller Recital Hall.

The Jeff Hall-directed event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, in the Rhea Miller Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

As part of the university's Alternative Breaks program, the group will travel to the Disabled American Veterans building in Detroit from Thursday, Nov. 28 to Saturday, Nov. 30.

At least one team of Saginaw Valley State University students has qualified for a national moot court tournament in Phoenix next year.

A Saginaw Valley State University student from Millington earned a $1,000 scholarship and will see her artwork featured next year in Graff Chevrolet advertisements.

Saginaw Valley State University student Adam Stuart received an honorable mention award at Michigan Mud 2013, a regional ceramic art competition that includes colleges and universities from Michigan and Ohio.

Saginaw Valley State University named 476 students to the President's List for the winter 2013 semester. To be eligible for the President's List, students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours and earn a 4.0 semester GPA.

Saginaw Valley State University graduate Emily Sullivan will attend Wayne State University Law School on an academic scholarship that covers full tuition. The Cass City native, a political science and criminal justice double major at SVSU, begins there this fall. "I am excited and slightly nervous, but I feel very well prepared by the education I received at SVSU," she said.

Twelve remarkable students will learn what it takes to become exceptional leaders after being selected for one of Saginaw Valley State University's most prestigious undergraduate programs. The students will add a concentrated focus on leadership to their studies after being selected to participate in the Roberts Fellows program for the 2013-14 academic year.

Saginaw Valley State University's 2013 Cardinal Formula Racing team secured second place in the acceleration category and placed 51st, overall, among the world's top 120 college and university race teams competing in the annual Formula Society of Automobile Engineers Collegiate Design Series at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, May 8-11.
