Saginaw Valley State University engineering students displayed their senior projects at the mechanical engineering senior design symposium on Friday, Dec. 6, in SVSU's Pioneer Hall.

Saginaw Valley State University students performed in a December production of "Miracle on 34th Street: A 1940s Radio Play." The play, shown December 4-5, recreateed a live 1940s-era radio broadcast of the story made popular by the 1947 movie adaptation starring Natalie Wood.

Fifteen Saginaw Valley State University residential life student leaders received two awards while representing SVSU at the 2013 Great Lakes Association of College and University Residence Halls Conference. Saginaw Valley State University's Cardinal Singers and Concert Choir will perform this year's holiday-themed concert, "Sing Noel!," at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, in the Rhea Miller Recital Hall.

The Jeff Hall-directed event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, in the Rhea Miller Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public.

As part of the university's Alternative Breaks program, the group will travel to the Disabled American Veterans building in Detroit from Thursday, Nov. 28 to Saturday, Nov. 30.

At least one team of Saginaw Valley State University students has qualified for a national moot court tournament in Phoenix next year.

Saginaw Valley State University student Adam Stuart received an honorable mention award at Michigan Mud 2013, a regional ceramic art competition that includes colleges and universities from Michigan and Ohio.

Saginaw Valley State University student Andrea Winne, a nursing major from Cottrellville, presented at the 24th International Nursing Research Congress Thursday, July 25 in Prague, Czech Republic. The conference was sponsored by Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

Saginaw Valley State University named 476 students to the President's List for the winter 2013 semester. To be eligible for the President's List, students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours and earn a 4.0 semester GPA.

Saginaw Valley State University graduate Emily Sullivan will attend Wayne State University Law School on an academic scholarship that covers full tuition. The Cass City native, a political science and criminal justice double major at SVSU, begins there this fall. "I am excited and slightly nervous, but I feel very well prepared by the education I received at SVSU," she said.

Twelve remarkable students will learn what it takes to become exceptional leaders after being selected for one of Saginaw Valley State University's most prestigious undergraduate programs. The students will add a concentrated focus on leadership to their studies after being selected to participate in the Roberts Fellows program for the 2013-14 academic year.
