But the trip is also the first formal visit by SVSU students to Pentecost, a school that became a sister university to SVSU in August. The group will depart Friday, Jan. 4, and over the course of nine days have the chance to interact with Ghanaian students and learn about international business from working professionals. Area Students Perform in Pulitzer Prize–Winning ‘Buried Child’ at SVSU

The Saginaw Valley State University theater department presents a Pulitzer Prize–winning play as its second production of the semester. “Buried Child” portrays an American family's traditional values breaking up and its dark secrets coming out. Written by Sam Shepard, the play won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1979. A thought-provoking story for our time, the play offers a macabre look at an American Midwestern family with a dark, terrible secret, set during a rural economic slowdown that coincides with the breakdown of traditional family structures and values. Directed by SVSU assistant professor of theater David Rzeszutek, performances are set for 7:30 p.m. every evening from Wednesday, Nov. 7, through Saturday, Nov. 10, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, in the Malcolm Field Theatre for Performing Arts. The show is intended for a mature audience, age 16 and above. The full cast list includes
