Saginaw native set to graduate from SVSU's Honors Program

2017 Nov 29

As the fall semester's close approaches, members of Saginaw Valley State University's Honors Program are set to graduate in December.

Student Gregory Bush , a graphic design major from Saginaw , is among the Honors Program graduates.

Graduates will participate in SVSU's commencement ceremonies Friday, Dec. 15 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 16 at 11 a.m., both in SVSU's O'Neill Arena.

The Honors Program comprises curricular and extra-curricular programs and activities for academically-talented students. The Honors Program allows students to pursue their major and minor degree work, while providing enriched academic experiences in Honors courses, seminars, research projects, and social activities.

Faculty who teach Honors courses and seminars are specifically chosen because of their interest in students, their experience as teachers, their research and their expertise in designing courses for the theme designated each year.

The Honors Program is a competitive program that selects 80 incoming freshman students a year. An honors designation is the most universally recognized sign of academic distinction achieved in higher education.
