SVSU student from Saginaw to attend national writers conference

2017 Jan 26

A group of Saginaw Valley State University students passionate about writing will attend The 2017 Association of Writers and Writing Programs Conference and Bookfair next month.

Mackenzie Bethune, a geography major of Saginaw, will be among the five SVSU students attending the Washington, DC event from Feb. 8-11.

Each year about 12,000 writers, teachers, students, editors and publishers gather at the event to participate in dialogue and networking.

This year's conference will feature keynote speaker Azar Nafisi, the author of the national bestseller, "Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books."
