2014 Dec 1
The University Art Gallery at Saginaw Valley State University will showcase the drawings and paintings of student artist David Janssen Jr., of Cass City, from Monday, Dec. 1 through Friday, Dec. 12. A reception for the artist is at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4.
The Fall 2014 Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition also features the drawings and paintings of student Eileen Gemborys, a Clarkston native.
Both students will graduate this month with a bachelor's degree in fine arts.
Janssen gives credit in part for his development as an artist to members of the fine arts faculty. He said they have helped him think more critically about his creative process and challenged him artistically. "Being a student in the art department has completely changed my life and my way of seeing everything," he said.
The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
The University Art Gallery is opened from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
