Matt Kline, of Jonesville, among 26 SVSU mechanical engineering students featured in senior design symposium

2014 Aug 28

Seven projects put together by 26 Saginaw Valley State University students were on display during the mechanical engineering senior design symposium Friday, Aug. 15 in Pioneer Hall.

Matt Kline, of Jonesville, designed the project -- titled "Cardinal Formula Racing FSAE Frame Tooling Package" -- for SVSU's Cardinal Formula Racing.

All mechanical engineering students are required to have a company sponsor their product in order to graduate.

Kline worked on the project with fellow SVSU mechanical engineering students, Ahmed Alkhlil, Jeremy Cousineu and Damian Gosztyla.

Companies sponsoring products at the symposium were Acra Cast, Covaron Advanced Materials, Duperon Corp., General Motors, Nexteer Automotive and Fullerton Tool.

During the symposium, students presented their senior design projects to students, faculty, staff and other guests. All mechanical engineering students must complete a working prototype in order to graduate.
