Logan Hahn, of Auburn, performs in SVSU concert

The Saginaw Valley State University's Cardinal Singers and Concert Choir performed "The Singers of SVSU: A Choral and Vocal Showcase" Monday, Feb. 23, at the Rhea Miller Recital Hall.

Logan Hahn, of Auburn, performed as a member of SVSU's Concert Choir vocal ensemble group. Hahn is a music major.

The program featured works by various 18th, 19th and 20th century composers, as well as Renaissance era and early-Baroque theorists alike. The program included renditions of Adriano Banchieri's "Gli Amanti Morescano," Charles Villiers "Te Deum in B-flat" and George Frederich Handel's "And He Shall Purify."

Conductor Kevin Simon and pianist Cheryl Cheger-Timm performed along with the two groups. The Cardinal Singers features 19 members while Concert Choir features 35 members.

An assistant professor of music at SVSU, Simons serves both as director of music and as organist at St. John's Episcopal Church in Saginaw. Cheger-Timm is a staff accompanist at SVSU. She also is active with Saginaw's Pit and Balcony Theatre.
