Audrey Warner, of Alcona, to be featured in SVSU Engineering Showcase

Thirty-two Saginaw Valley State University students will demonstrate a practical approach to mechanical engineering design during the SVSU Summer 2016 Engineering Showcase.

Poster presentations and live demonstrations are planned for the showcase Friday, Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. to noon in the first floor lobby of SVSU's Pioneer Hall. Students also will present their projects individually from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Pioneer 245 and Pioneer 247.

Audrey Warner, of Alcona, is among the students featured in the showcase. Warner is a mechanical engineering major.

Warner is working on a project for Great Lakes Pet Emergencies, of Saginaw. The project involves designing an automated animal cage that would be used as an intensive care unit at veterinary clinics..

The showcase will feature students who engineered products in collaboration with companies such as Duperon Corp., Duro-Last, Euclid Industries and Means Industries.

Mechanical engineering majors collaborate with outside agencies as part of a senior project required before graduation.
