Andrew Bicigo, of Freeland, to perform in SVSU Jazz Ensemble Concert

2013 Nov 26

Saginaw Valley State University student Andrew Bicigo, a pre-criminal justice major from Freeland, will perform with fellow student musicians and a guest artist during next week's SVSU Jazz Ensemble Concert.

The performance is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, in the Rhea Miller Recital Hall; it is free and open to the public. Jeff Hall, SVSU jazz artist-in-residence, will direct the ensemble.

Saginaw pianist Mike Brush, a celebrated local musician, will join 16 students on stage for the evening gig. Brush served as the director of the Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy's keyboard and voice department director from 1999 to 2010. His jazz-influenced albums include "Exposed" and "Songs For Us."

The program's lineup includes songs such as "Old Man River," "I Should Care," "Swingin' The Blues," "Pools," "You Make Me Feel So Young," "My One and Only Love" and "Groovin' Hard."
