Andrea Winne, of Saginaw, presents SVSU Honors Program thesis

2013 Dec 2

Andrea Winne, a nursing major from Saginaw, was one of six Saginaw Valley State University students to present during the Honors Program's Thesis Presentation Day Friday, Nov. 22.

Winne's thesis was titled "Utilization of Complementary and Alternative Medicine by Nurses in Nepal."

Winne's advisor was Marcia Shannon, an assistant professor of nursing.

Honors students complete a thesis their junior or senior years. Students involved in the program also complete four Honors Program classes and maintain at least a 3.5 G.P.A.

SVSU's Honors Program comprises curricular and extra-curricular programs and activities for academically talented students. The initiative allows students to pursue their degrees while experiencing enriched experiences in honors courses, seminars, research projects and social activities.

Many SVSU honors students continue their studies in graduate or professional school to pursue advanced degrees.
