Adam Stuart, of Bridgeport, recognized at ceramic art competition

Saginaw Valley State University student Adam Stuart received an honorable mention award at Michigan Mud 2013, a regional ceramic art competition that includes colleges and universities from Michigan and Ohio.

The Bridgeport Township resident's piece, titled "Avis," a mixed media ceramic mask, was recognized among work from graduate and undergraduate students at the competition, hosted this year by Delta College.

Competing schools included Michigan State University, Central Michigan University, Bowling Green, Grand Valley State University, Northern Michigan, University of Toledo and Albion College.

Stuart's prize included a $50 gift certificate from Runyan Pottery.
