SVSU student and Essexville native Amanda Himmel accepted into Ferris State University optometry school

Saginaw Valley State University student Amanda Himmel, a Essexville native and a biology major, recently was accepted into the Ferris State University Michigan College of Optometry.

Himmel will study for a doctor of optometry degree beginning in the 2015 academic year.

Himmel, a 2011 graduate of Garber High School, serves as vice president of SVSU's Health Professions Association, a group for students planning a career in the health professions.
